Welcome to the 2023/2024 School Year!
I'm looking forward to a great year, and I hope you are, too. As we start a new school year, I think it's really important to remember the power of kindness. The kinder we are to each other as the year progresses, the better we'll feel at school, and the more we will all learn and thrive. For some kindness-related inspiration, check out the video (Life Vest Inside - Kindness Boomerang - "One Day") and poster (Kindness: Pass It On) below.
For your information, I have uploaded my September, 2023 newsletter below (and on the Educational Reading page, which is under Curriculum in the menu bar at the top of this page; hover your cursor over Curriculum, and it will appear as a drop-down option), and there are links to several documents with helpful information for the back-to-school season on the Educational Reading page (ranging from lunch ideas to helping with homework to how much sleep students need).
Yours sincerely,
Mr. M.

The Importance of Kindness
Educate the Heart
True Colours
When it comes to bullying, stand up (by asking the bully to stop or by ignoring them and continuing to do what you want to do), step in (don't be a bystander; ask people to stop bullying others or get them the help they need), and reach out (show kindness both to those doing the bullying - they probably need some kindness, or they wouldn't be doing that - and to those have been bullied). If we all show our true colours, we can put an end to bullying.
Mr. McLeod is on Twitter
I have created a Twitter account to tweet from in my role as a Grade 6 teacher at SMS. If you are on Twitter, I invite you to follow that account, and, if you aren't on Twitter yourself, you can view my tweets anyways by going to http://twitter.com/MrClayMcLeod. There is a twitter icon at the top of this page, too.
