Here are some pictures from our field trip to the Okanagan Heritage Museum (and Kasugai Garden) and a sample picture from Rocket Science this afternoon (I was too busy supervising mission control to get any more pictures, but I'll see if Mrs. Mutter captured any images of our exploits this afternoon).
We read the Lorax in class today, and the students are responding to it by making a comic strip about it. Here is a recording of me reading it to the class:
I also posted a video showing some of our Mad Science fun from a couple of weeks ago (it is unlisted on YouTube):
Here are some pictures of us flying the kites we made in Mad Science last week:
It took me some time to make time to upload photos from my camera to my computer, but I have finally done it, just in time for the break from school. Below are pictures from the first term of the 2014/2015 school year. There's one of my classrooom "Voice-o-Meter," several of us making rain gauges, and lots of us launching stomp rockets, as well as one of our peace wreath. Please feel free to download to your computer any pictures that you would like. Please refrain from posting on social media (e.g., Facebook) any pictures that include students other than your son or daughter without checking with the parents of those other students. Seasons greetings! It has been a busy week. Today, we made and flew kites. Here are some pictures. You can also see the #selfie video we created earlier in the week below the kite-flying slide show. October has been a busy month. These pictures show some of the instructional sequence we went through to learn volleyball skills (the first pictures show us playing towelball - a game that involves cooperation and intense teamwork - and the next ones show volleyball over benches instead of nets (a version that allows for increased student success and more time on the ball). The final pictures illustrate the creativity that was on display on Halloween.
To replace some trees that were removed from our school grounds for safety reasons, each class has planted a new tree. Ours is a Katsura tree, and we took advantage of the beautiful weather on Friday afternoon to spend some time sketching it.
